In a bid to promote peace and stability during, before, and after the upcoming elections in Western Region and Ghana, the Hope Minds Foundation is hosting a special event, “Singing for Peace, Free and Fair Elections.”
The event will take place on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Word of Life Assemblies of God, Anaji-Takoradi.
This initiative is aimed at uniting the region’s citizens in harmony and peace through music, prayer, and communal interaction.
The event will feature top-notch performances from several renowned gospel musicians. Among the invited artists are: Legendary Uncle Ato, a celebrated gospel icon. Joyce Blessing, known for her inspiring worship songs.
Yvonne Menz, Faith Essien, and Efua Black, each with their unique gospel styles, will join to elevate the spirit of the event.
The event will be hosted by Reverend Michael Kumi Owusu, and the master of ceremonies will be Nana Quasi-Wusu, a popular media personality from YFM Takoradi.
Several distinguished guests from both political and traditional spheres will grace the event, showing a collective commitment to the peaceful conduct of the elections. Notable invitees include: Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, Omanhene of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area. Bishop Emmanuel Botwey, Chairman of the Western Regional Peace Council. Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, Special Guest of Honor and a leading figure in the Western Region. Dr. Dominic Kwesi Eduah, Executive Director of GNPC Foundation.

The main goal of this event is to foster peace among political parties and the general public, ensuring a serene atmosphere during the electoral period. With elections often heightening tensions, this gathering serves as a reminder of the shared values that unite all Ghanaians. The hope is that through prayer, music, and the coming together of influential personalities, the Western Region will exemplify how elections can be conducted peacefully.
By bringing together politicians, traditional rulers, and gospel artists under one roof, Hope Minds Foundation LBG underscores the importance of peace and collaboration in maintaining Ghana’s democratic values.
Background:
Rev Michael K. Owusu is a Reverend Minister of the International Central Gospel Church (I.C.G.C) and the Head Pastor of I.C.G.C Olive Tree Temple, Daboase. He is also the Founding President of Hope Minds Foundation.
Hope Minds Foundation LBG is a Christian Non- Governmental Organization which offers a range of programmes and activities for youth, communities, nations and humanity at large.
