The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Ghana, The Most Rev. Dr. Paul K. Boafo, has revealed plans by the Church to engage President Akufo-Addo over his delay in assenting the anti-LGBTQ+ bill.
Delivering his Easter Address on Wednesday, the Chief Shepherd of the Church disclosed that, the Church is opposed to the practice, hence the concern about the lack of swiftness in outlawing the act.
He noted that even though the Methodist Church is not against the practitioners, there’s the need to freeze the practice, while taking loving and considerate steps to redeem those who welcome such indulgences.
The meeting with the President, will therefore discuss how to expedite action on the bill in the wake of recent clashes between the Presidency and Parliament over the matter.
