A pastor of the Church of Pentecost, Pastor Emmanuel Kyei Boate has penned down a message to events organizers on Gospel musician charging for an events.
In a facebook post he wrote:
On Gospel musicians charging for events
There are a lot of things I’m re-learning as I grow. The other day Grace told me “I’m glad you’re learning some things all over again now”
You see when some churches and events organizers started taking the gospel musicians for granted omo nso faa omo ho adwene
I mean a Gospel musician drives from Accra to Winneba and after the ministration the very person who did all the protocol arrangements gets lost and no one can find them leaving the musician stranded.
I once met one Gospel musician who was invited to an event. He hired a mini van and carried his full team of band and BVs to the event thinking that after the event at least he will be able to sort the transportation out for his team members.
Fast forward event closes and he’s chasing events organisers for something small to at least pay for his team’s transport. At the end of the day he had to do it all by himself.
No one is saying the Don Simon and Pie is not good but churches should stop thinking that the best way to honor people’s gifts is the way they do it.
I’m never for musicians becoming too expensive to the point that the body of Christ can’t afford them. I believe musicians must be moderate in their demands but the organisers too should try…
So before you invite a Gospel musician first be sure you can at least pay for his/her TNT and at least add something small so he can also nom nsuo small I mean drink water small 😆
Churches and event organisers must learnt to build relations with people. Relations can open doors. And I know what I’m saying
You want a musician to look good when you invite them. Kaftans and suits are not bought with pastries ooo 🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾
Anyway but chaley brothers and sisters who minister, not all churches are so endowed so when they invite you “see inside give them wae” na ɛnyɛ bɛtɛɛ..
Imagine inviting E’mPraise Inc and giving them meat pie and sobolo yet you want their full team to come…
